CERT collaborates with Canada business school

ABU DHABI — The Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT) will offer new programmes soon in collaboration with Queen’s School of Business.

This was announced at Crowne Plaza Hotel here in the capital. This is the first time that programmes from a Canadian university have been launched. The programme includes eight modules in different fields of business.

The modules include: Strategy (Oct. 23-25, 2007), Finance (Nov. 11-12, 2007), Marketing (Nov 26-28, 2007), Governance (Dec. 9-11, 2007), Finance module 2 (March 23-25, 2008), Operational Leadership (March 23-25, 2008) Human Resources module 1 (April 6-8, 2008) and HR module 2 (May 25-26, 2008).

“This courses would be available for Emiratis and expatriates. And we would concentrate to provide the students our best,” said Jim Doyle, director of CERT.

CERT has plans in the future to offer many accredited courses and classes to meet the needs of the labour market.

Thomas G. Anger, executive director of Queen’s School of Business told Khaleej Times, “The courses are accredited with the UK-based association of MBAs and European Quality Improvement System (European schools assessment programme (EQUIS)) accreditation standards in the EU.”
