ABU DHABI — The Director of the Department of Privatisation and Financial Investments at Abu Dhabi General Police Headquarters, Lt-Col. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Ali Al Kamaly, yesterday announced that the Abu Dhabi Police would organise an auction of about 100 distinguished car plate numbers at Emirates Palace Hotel on October 27 at 10am.

Lt-Col. Al Kamaly said the auction would be open to all. Registrations would begin at 4.00pm on October 25-26 at Emirates Palace Hotel.

Lt-Col. Maiouf Mohammed Ahmed Al Kotbi, Director of the Department of Licensing in Abu Dhabi Police, said the department does not charge any fees for plate numbers that are purchased from the auctions. He added that the owners of the number plates will have the right to sell and relinquish them in return of Dh1,000.
