Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced a series of protests from Friday
This increase has been necessitated by the fluctuations in the exchange rate, Canadian Ambassador W. David Hutton said.
Temporary resident visa (visit visa) for single entry has gone up to Dh 210 from the previous Dh 75, while for multiple entries in the same category the new fee is Dh 415, up from the previous Dh 150.
Temporary resident visa (visit visa) family rate is now Dh 1,110, up from Dh 400. A student visa will now cost Dh 345 from the earlier charge of Dh 125, while work permit is up to Dh 415 from Dh 150.
The permanent resident visa will cost Dh 150, up from the previous Dh 50.
Mr Hutton said that the visa charges, like fees for other services provided by the embassy, are adjusted periodically and may change without notice. The visa fees are non-refundable.
"Fees paid in Canadian dollars have not increased," he clarified.
Details of fees for other visa services not listed may be obtained at the embassy, he added.
