Call for public help to protect children

ABU DHABI — Cooperation should be garnered to protect children from risks and to activate interaction between school and the family to achieve the aspirations and objectives of the educational and security institutions, said the Higher Committee for Child Protection at the Interior Ministry in a statement on Wednesday, soon after the commencement of the new academic year.

Major General Nasser Lakhribani Al Nauaimi, Secretary General of the Deputy prime Minister’s Office, Interior Minister and Chairman of the Committee wished the students a successful academic year.

He called for launching comprehensive training, professional and academic programmes to combat all forms of child exploitation and abuse. He also called for the possibility of endorsing them as part of the school curricula, matching each and every educational stage. Major General Al Nauaimi pointed out the importance of the role played by media in achieving effective cooperation, and strengthening family awareness among society. —
