Cabinet okays monthly credits for ministries

ABU DHABI — The cabinet met here yesterday with Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the chair.

During the meeting, which was held in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the cabinet approved a memorandum on the temporary monthly credits for ministries, independent bodies and affiliated bodies, to be recouped later from the 2005 annual budget.

The cabinet also approved UAE’s membership to the international agreement on the protection of cultural heritage and the payment of UAE’s membership fees to that effect. it also approved a memo on the re-appointment of board members of the UAE Central Bank under the chairmanship of Mohammed Eid Al Mreikhi.

The cabinet reviewed a report by Shaikh Hamdan on the outcome of the GCC Summit which was held on December 20 and 21, 2004 in Manama.

It also reviewed a number of memos, including one on the e-government project and three other memos from the Federal National Council on the latter’s general policies on remunerations and social security and on two federal draft laws on the approval of the 2001 final statement of the Zayed University and the Higher Colleges of Technology.
