Breast cancer drive intensified

DUBAI — The BurJuman centre in Dubai is intensifying its “Safe and Sound” breast cancer awareness programme this year through a unique photography competition that is being held in association with campaign partner Kodak, a world leader in mammography imaging.

“Think Pink” is the theme of the competition, which is focusing on the colour pink in line with the colour of the global campaign dedicated to breast cancer awareness. The contest is open to all the residents in the UAE with the first prize winner receiving a world-class digital camera LS743 from Kodak plus Dh 3,000 in shopping vouchers from BurJuman. The second and third prize winners will also receive Kodak cameras. The closing date for submitting entries on Kodak paper 5" x 7" is November 10, 2004.

Sabina Khandwani, Head of Research and Marketing at BurJuman, said: "This unique and exciting competition will help raise more awareness of breast cancer and our efforts to bring about better understanding of the disease within the UAE population. We are promoting this photography competition across the UAE through schools and art centres in addition to our outlets so that we can target the widest possible audience to spread the key messages of the 'Safe and Sound' campaign.
