The Minister of Labour, Dr Ali bin Abdullah Al Kaabi, visited the new offices and lauded the new work system adopted at the office.
Obaid Rashid Al Zahmi, Assistant Under-Secretary of the MoL, said, “The move to the new building will improve the quality of services and provide suitable work environment for the ministry’s staff.”
For the system breakdown, Khalil Khoury, Director of the Work Permit Department, said, “The breakdown is normal because a huge number of transactions were entered in the system at the same time.”
Applicants, who visited the MoL yesterday, also commented about the new building.
A public relations manager, said, “The new place is well-organised and everyone is attended to under the ‘First Come First Serve’ basis.” Some of the visitors, however, said that the building is quite far from the downtown.
Currently, only the PROs and owners of companies can access the counters of the work permits and firms department.
