Breakdown in Internet traffic
DUBAI — Internet traffic in the emirates was affected due to breakdown of a few international links resulting from a submarine cable cut outside the UAE yesterday.
Due to this, certain traffic related to applications like gaming and peer to peer for customers had been affected. eCompany stated that there was no service outage and that they were working closely with the international service provider for repairing these submarine cables to ensure that the links are restored at the earliest.
The redundant links deployed by Etisalat for such an eventuality has meant that normal Internet browsing and essential traffic will continue to work smoothly.
