Eating out, poor hand hygiene and erratic weather may be among causes, say medics
Sharjah — In a tragic accident, a 10-year-old Emirati boy died after another car driven by his schoolmate’s mother, an Arab lady, hit him near the entrance of his school in Al Rams area.
The grade four student at Al Kamal American School identified as R.A. lost his life while he was walking to his mother’s car to go home.
The police arrived on the scene and shifted the boy’s body to the morgue in Al Qasimi hospital. The woman driver of the car which hit him has been taken into police custody.
A sense of sadness and grief prevailed among students and staff of the school.
Police official said parents who come to pick up their children from schools must be very careful and should always be on the watch out for very young students. Safety guards must be deployed around schools to ensure that students are safe while crossing roads and getting into their bus.
