The book presents a profile of the member countries of the European Union (EU), including the geographical, historical and cultural aspects, and highlights the differences between these states in terms of language, history, economic potential and religious denominations.

Despite these differences, the EU countries have managed to forge unity and thus deal with the world as one power, says the book.

The idea of unity become real and was embodied in the shape of a unique partnership when France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg signed the Treaties of Rome in March 1957, says the book.
