UAE's relations with Germany have been characterised by strength and solidity in various fields, the book said, describing at length the meetings held by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with a number of senior German officials, including Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder who visited the UAE in March this year.

During the meeting, Shaikh Khalifa made pointed reference to the friendly relations between the two countries and traced the remarkable progress in joint cooperation in all fields — economic, business and commercial.

"We wish to carry forward this cooperation for mutual benefit and strengthen further the strategic partnership," Shaikh Khalifa was quoted as saying.

The book also highlights the relations between the UAE and members of the European Union, especially France, Britain, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria.
