One of them was injured while smashing windowpanes and doors of a house while escaping from a house they had broken into when neighbours woke up. They stole DVD and stereo players and two wristwatches.

According to the police, they received a call from a resident of Dhedna in Dibba Al Fujairah on Friday that he had heard noises of smashing of windowpanes around 8am at the house of his Emirati neighbour who was not in the house at the time.

He knocked on the doors of the neighbour but no one answered. He woke members of his family up and went to the house. He saw two persons running out of the house. When he and his family members entered the house, they saw spots of blood.

The police began a search for a wounded man at hospitals, especially the nearby Dibba Fujairah Hospital.

The records of the people who visited the Dibba Fujairah Hospital on the day of the incident showed that one person had come with a deep wound that needed 12 stitches. The man, identified as Mohammed Isa Sulieman, was arrested at the hospital. He confessed to breaking into the house with his accomplice, Nader Ahmed, who was also arrested.

The duo were referred to the Public Prosecution which ordered their detention for four days.
