Blaze Destroys Nine Warehouses in Fujairah
FUJAIRAH — Nine warehouses were destroyed in a massive fire that broke out in the Fujairah Free Zone around 11.30pm on Thursday.
Fire-fighters from all the five fire stations in the emirate as well as from Kalba, Dhaid and Khor Fakkan in Sharjah, and Al Manama in Ajman battled with the blaze for at least six hours, but there were no casualties, according to Lieutenant-Colonel Ali Al Tinaiji, Director of the Civil Defence Department in Fujairah.
The fire-fighters prevented the fire from spreading to the big fuel tanks in the vicinity.
Investigations were to ascertain the cause of the fire and some of the workers in the area were questioned by the investigators.
