PAD arranged a dinner in Dubai recently with Naeem Ullah Khan, director of the orphanage named Parwarish in Swat, Pakistan, which was founded on November 9, 2009 in collaboration with the Dubai-based association.

Khan said: “We started with a few children and now the institution supports 127 children. We still have 25 orphans waiting for support. I encourage the community to be part of this initiative,” said Khan.

Asif Durrani, Pakistan Ambassador to the UAE, was the chief guest at the event. Dr Saeed Qadir, Commercial Consular from Pakistan Consulate in Dubai participated.

Durrani said: “I am new in the UAE and my primary focus is education. We can train children by bringing good teachers on merit,” he said.

A video presentation of a Parwarish child, Mohammad Nabi’s story, highlighted the role of the orphanage in transforming his life. PAD Welfare Secretary Ali Edhi gave a brief about the welfare activities of the association. Parwarish donors were given feedback and academic reports of their adopted children along with personal letters written by the children.
