Fujairah — His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, on Wednesday opened the Armed Forces Martyrs’ Mosque in the emirate.

The Fujairah Ruler unveiled the memorial plaque of the mosque and performed the Dhuhr (midday) prayer along with worshippers.

Shaikh Hamad greeted the UAE Armed Forces and their martyrs, noting that naming the mosque after the martyrs is a tribute to their sacrifices to defend the borders of the homeland as well as achieve its stability and security.

The expenses for building the mosque, which is a distinguished addition to Fujairah, were borne by Abdullah bin Karam Al Shamsi. Located in the middle of the emirate, the new mosque can
 accommodate 2,200 worshippers — 1,700 men and 500 women. — Wam
