A huge quantity of stolen items, including jewellery, watches, and cameras, laptops, and currency worth $50,000, were seized from their apartment in Al Ghusais.
In a complaint lodged with the police, an Indian national, N.A., said that he went to India in May this year, but on his return to the UAE in June, he found his apartment on Al Riqqa road ransacked. The thieves had decamped with valuables worth Dh300,000.
In the meanwhile, police also received 10 more complaints from residents who went on vacation, but on return to Dubai found out that their houses had been burgled.
According to police, the thieves had used advanced techniques to enter a number of houses in Al Ghusais and Bur Dubai areas.
After constant monitoring, the police made a breakthrough on August 4 by tracking down some of the gang members. A day later, the police raided the apartment in Al Ghusais and arrested all of them.
Tools used by the theives to break into residential units were also recovered.
