Arab Parliament reiterates support to UAE’s full sovereignty over three islands

The Arab Parliament has reiterated its firm stance of fully backing the UAE’s full sovereignty over its three islands, Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb, the Lesser Tunb, including their regional waters, airspace, continental shelf and their exclusive economic zone, as integral parts of the UAE.

The Arab Parliament called on Iran to seek a solution to the dispute either through direct bilateral negotiations or by resorting to the international court of justice.

In the final communique, issued at the end of its 2nd session of the first ordinary term, headed by its Speaker Ahmed Mohammed al Jarwan, the Arab Parliament also called on Iran not to intervene in Arab countries’ internal affairs and to refrain from making provocative statements that could harm good neighbourliness policy with its GCC countries.

The Arab Parliament expressed concern over the plight of Syrian refugees in the different camps and emphaised the need for immediate assistance to the refugees.
