Arab leaders agree to speed up privatisation

DAVOS - Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Economic Department - who is heading the UAE delegation to the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos - attended a meeting of the Arab leaders taking part in the forum.

King Abdullah of Jordan and Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahraini Crown Prince and Commander General of the Bahraini Defence Force, were among those who attended the meeting.

Arab political leaders and businessmen agreed, after deliberation, to create a real partnership between the public and the private sectors to boost development and modernisation in the Arab world.

They agreed on the need to speed up the privatisation of public institutions to bring them to the levels of international companies and institutions.
