The department's latest accolade for Dubai is the result of an exclusive poll which attracted voting by over 12,000 tourism and travel professional readers of the Travel Trade Gazette - Russia (TTG-Russia).

The 6th Russian Travel Industry Awards were instituted by TTG-Russia and ITE Travel Exhibitions. MITT is considered as the third biggest travel trade fair in Europe.

DTCM has been participating in the MITT right from its inception 11 years ago. In 2004, Dubai was represented by a 35-member strong delegation.

The department put up the Dubai stand with a strong team of 55 co-participants.

The DTCM Manager Overseas Promotions, Khalifa Ali Buamaim, who headed the Dubai delegation to MITT-2004, gave all the credit to the hard work and dedication of the staff of the DTCM Moscow.

"The award reflects our aggressive promotional and marketing agenda for this region where Dubai remained a sought-after year-round destination for business and leisure. This recognition prompts us to further energise our efforts for this market," he said.

He said the emirate's world-class tourism infrastructure and services came in for praise at the exhibition.
