Maryam bin Fahad, Executive Director of Dubai Press Club and the Arab Media Forum, said: “Over the last year, we have witnessed major shifts in the structure and work environment of media in the Arab region and the world. The media deeply influenced the outcomes of key political and economic events across the region. The 11th edition aims to examine these dynamic shifts.”
She also said that the focusing on the dynamic transformation witnessed by the Arab world and the role of media in articulating the evolving trends.
Hosted under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the two-day event will gather leading media personalities from the regional and global media landscape. The two-day programme will include the gala Arab Journalism Awards and launch of the fourth edition of the Arab Media Outlook Report. As a key highlight, Arab Media Forum 2012 will share the outcomes of the fourth Arab Media Outlook report, which monitors developments in the media landscape across the Arab region. The report also forecasts the growth over five years in 17 Arab countries, includingLibya, Iraq, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Sudan, Tunisia, the UAE and Yemen. Fahad said the Arab Media Forum will also host experts and specialists in a panel discussion to deliberate upon the findings of the report.

The 10th edition of the Arab Media Forum held from 17-18 May 2011, attracted more than 2,800 participants, including media professionals, decision makers, researchers, academics and media students. Over 23,000 people tuned in to the forum via direct broadcast technology on the Internet. A total of 40 different nationalities from around the Arab region and the world participated in the event.
