Toomaj Salehi risks being hanged after the conviction on the Shariah charge of "corruption on Earth" by a Revolutionary Court
Built in 1898 by Shaikh Zayed The First, Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain is one of the largest forts in the UAE. With simple mud brick walls and a few basic rooms that remain cool in the mid-afternoon heat, the fort served as a royal residence for Abu Dhabi’s leaders who occupied the fort in the summer months. The original part of the fort consists of two buildings, a square fort and a separate round tower comprising four concentric tiers. KT senior photographer Shoaib Anwer captures the magic of this very impressive restored fort through his lens.shoaib@khaleejtimes.com
