He told Khaleej Times that the decision, taken on Wednesday, was because the slow heavy vehicles were creating traffic congestion at some traffic signals, Al Sedawi and industrial areas intersections. He said heavy vehicles coming from Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah should use the new ring road to pass through the exits on Emirates road to enter Ajman. "But, they continue to use the old roads, causing problems in the city." Brig. Al Matroushi said that despite the opening of the new Emirates ring road and other roads, traffic congestion continued to exist because of the heavy vehicles.
