Ajman spends Dh100m for road network

AJMAN — The government of Ajman has spent more than Dh100 million to execute the road network in the emirate, according to Shaikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman.

During a visit to Ajman Municipality yesterday, he stressed that the amount will be doubled next year to construct modern bridges and roads to keep pace with the emirate's development.

Shaikh Ammar hailed the achievements made by the municipality in terms of development of public services to cope with rapid growth of real estate in the emirate.

"We are satisfied with municipality's performance in regard to public services and the government will support the municipality financially to provide best services for the public," he said.

With regard to the e-Government project being carried out by the government departments, he said the project the municipality would be first to provide its services on line very soon.

He pointed out that the works of the sewerage network project were in process and it were expected to be completed soon to cover Al Nuaimia and the Industrial Area.

"The sewerage project is one of the important infrastructure development projects in the emirate," he commented.

Shaikh Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Department of Municipality and Planning said that the public and private projects being currently carried out were worth Dh30 billion in total.

With regard to the delay in executing the road construction project, Shaikh Rashid said that priority is given to crowded areas which are witnessing traffic congestion such as intersections in the emirate.
