Brazil's energy minister attends Opec+ meeting, says group's invitation a historic moment for the country
The campaign is organised in collaboration with the Operations Department of the Police and comes as part of the traffic campaigns organised by GCC nations.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, Colonel Ali Saeed Al Matrooshi, Director of the Traffic Department of Ajman Police, said the campaign aims at inculcating into the motorists’ minds the importance of regularly ensuring the safety of their cars.
“As part of the campaign, we will set check points at various points of the emirate where ae passing car will be closely inspected to ensure motorists are strictly abiding by the safety rules,” he said
Colonel Al Matrooshi warned that driving a car without conducting regular check-ups can lead to fatal accidents as a small defect can lead to serious accidents.
“Cars must go through maintenance regularly and repairs done immediately. Motorists should never opt to buy fake car tyres as they usually lead to fatal accidents.
During the summer more roll-over accidents occur due to the use of fake or worn out tyres. The sweltering heat leads to tyre explosions and motorists lose of their vehicles completely,” Colonel Al Matrooshi said.
