Dr Radha Lachhiramani
"Akshaya Tritiya in Sanskrit means 'never diminishing'. I love the festival, as it is bound to bring good luck and success. Also, contributing towards any charity on this day is considered to be auspicious and you will be blessed. It's great to see the marketplace buzzing with so many offers, and I for one will definitely be shopping for some jewellery."

Harshikha Belani
"One of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar, Akshaya Tritiya is celebrated with lots of excitement and any purchase on that day is considered to be good fortune. We as a family usually buy gold to commemorate this occasion. Plus, during the festival you can shop for gold at any given time of the day!"

Jaya Tejwani
"I believe that purchasing gold on Akshaya Tritya will bring lots of prosperity in the future and that anything brought on this day will grow or appreciate and is most likely to give a great return on investment. It is also believed that it will be a sign of good luck for the buyer, so I prefer to invest in some statement gold pieces on the occasion."

Kajal Shethia
"I absolutely love the vibe of the festival! I like to walk around the Gold Souk and see the different promotions going on to make the best choice, as there are so many options to choose from. Most jewellery stores in Dubai launch their latest collection exclusively for the festival, so I spend some quality time going through stunning pieces one after the other to make the purchase."

Mamta Masand
"On Akshaya Tritiya I prefer to pick up ethnic pieces such as Kundan necklaces or Chand Balis over gold coins, as they end up being a great investment. Also, stores reduce their making charges on the day and offer additional items such as pendants, after a spend of a certain amount, which make for great gifts."

Nayana Shah
"Any precious item brought on the festival of Akshaya Tritiya is considered to bring success or good fortune. Buying gold is a popular activity, as it is the ultimate symbol of wealth and prosperity. I love shopping for gold on the day and believe that gold jewellery bought and worn on this day signifies never diminishing good fortune."

Muskan Wadhwani
"The excitement here reminds us of how we used to prepare to make our annual gold purchase back home on Akshaya Tritiya. I will definitely be checking out jewellery stores in Meena Bazaar to see what is on offer. I don't really believe in going all out and purchasing heavy pieces and prefer getting a pair of lightweight earrings or a simple bangle, just as a token of good fortune."
