AGCC FMs discuss UAE islands issue with Powell

NEW YORK — UAE Foreign Minister Rashid Abdullah Al Nuaimi attended a meeting here yesterday between foreign ministers of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (AGCC) and US Secretary of State Colin Powell.

The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 59th UN General Assembly session, discussed ways to boost ties between the AGCC and the US.

They discussed a number of important regional and international issues of interest, including the three UAE islands of Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs, which have been occupied by Iran, developments in Iraq and Middle East, ways to improve the war against terror and easing procedure of issuing US visas to AGCC nationals.
