Dubai Misdemeanour court has passed the sentence after the defendant approached two Asian men, Mohammed Rafiq and Asmet Khan, at their residence in a labour camp and claiming to be CID, demanded to see their identification.

As Rafiq took out his wallet, to show him his labour card, Ahmed grabbed the wallet from his hand. When the other victim, Asmet, took out his phone to call the police, Ahmed snatched the phone from his hand and fled with the wallet and the phone. Police later caught up with him, and was sentenced by the court.
