Adventure Surprises

DUBAI— The second week of Ten Surprises is witnessing a surge of visitors to the malls as endless activities, such as the The Adventure and the Nature Surprises, continue to regale children and adults alike at Times Square and Mall of the Emirates.

Adventure Surprises will feature the Surprise is the Roller Parade, a daring stunt exhibition of roller skaters on ramps. The 15-minute high-energy shows are an exciting demonstration of agility, skill, and dexterity.

Another highlight is the, ‘Forest Attack’, is a play that simulates the destruction of a forest by natural disasters. The play is a combination of education and entertainment and aims at increasing awareness amongst children.

Apart from the Surprise itself, Times Square Center will play host to numerous other events such as the Soha and Sami Show and Touch of Venice, where musicians dressed in traditional medieval Europe attire do renditions of Western Classical music.

Nature Surprises will hold ‘Angry Earth’ at Mall of the Emirates, a scientific, yet fun theatre play about a little boy who tries to convince a dormant volcano not to erupt in his village. An international tap dancing show with performers from Armenia will also be part of the play.

A picture gallery is also being displayed at the ‘Angry Earth’ exhibition, listing all renowned volcanoes through history. Entertaining and technical workshops and games consist of tectonics, tsunami experiences, and clay volcanoes, among others. A highlight of this exhibition is a giant model of a volcano with scientific explanation.

These events will run throughout the Dubai Summer Surprises 2007 until August 31.
