The agreement came close on the heels of the success of similar programmes for students from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Aimed at developing a competent Emirati workforce in the field of food control, the diploma, higher diploma and graduate courses for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain students produced well over 100 competent national professionals who joined ADFCA to pursue a career in food inspection.

Once the diploma holders join ADFCA, they are also encouraged to pursue higher studies in the same field and are offered study leave and the option of flexible work time.

The Authority is currently exploring the possibility of launching similar courses in veterinary and agricultural sciences. The courses are part of the ‘specialisation’ programme that ADFCA had launched a few years ago with a view to build a national workforce in its areas of operations.
