Lt. General Shaikh Mohammed expressed his wholehearted congratulations to the delegation of the national team, including the players, administrative and technical staff for the achievement which has added to the many successes of the youth of the nation in the various international arenas. He praised the impressive and heroic performance of the national team’s members and their brilliant coach Mahdi Ali, who guided them to winning the Gulf Cup.
Lt. General Shaikh Mohammed congratulated the people of the UAE who have sincerely supported the players with utmost dedication, reiterating that the great achievement and heroic honouring performance was an outcome of the support and backing of the wise leadership. He wished the national team more successes and achievements.
Speaking over the phone to Abu Dhabi Sports Channel, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi said: “I would like to congratulate His Majesty King Hamad bin Essa Al Khalifa, King of the brotherly Kingdom of Bahrain on the success which has been achieved by the Kingdom in organising the event and present to him in the name of the UAE this victory and thank the people of Bahrain and newsmen.”
“We are too much delighted. It’s a delight for everybody,” he said.
“We are fortunate to have such a high calibre national team. We are also proud of the national coach who got pride for his nation and delighted all the people in every house with this positive result. There’s no doubt we are targeting the international arena and know that there’s a long way to go. But, we are confident that our lads are trustworthy,” he added.
“Our true investment is in our boys who are the future of the nation, Allah preserves them and preserves the UAE and blesses Shaikh Zayed’s soul and long live Shaikh Khalifa,” he said.
“The results are delightful and this is not appreciation, but it is our duty all of us. The nation deserves more and our boys are very precious in our eyes,” he added.
