Accidents claim nine lives in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI — Nine people were killed and 46 others injured in road accidents in Abu Dhabi during last week, reveals a Civil Defence report.

The report said the condition of four of the injured was serious. Twenty-eight persons suffered moderate injuries, while 14 sustained minor injuries, it added.

Tyre burst, reckless driving and jumping the red signal were among the causes of the accidents in different parts of the emirate.

The report said the accidents included 22 collisions, seven cases of vehicles overturning and four cases of pedestrians being run over.
