Abu Dhabi school tops in Pak exams

ABU DHABI —The Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Arab Pakistan School in Abu Dhabi has secured overall first position in the UAE in the results of Secondary School Certificate examination of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad for 2007.

According to the Principal of the school, Chaudhri Muhammad Munir, “There was 80 per cent pass result in Computer Science, 79 per cent in Humanities, 76 per cent in Science (Biology) all by the girls. The school produced overall 70 per cent pass result this year.”

Three students who topped in the school are Imran Hayat who held the first position, Sarah Iqbal grabbed the second while Qamar Fatima secured the third position.

Among boys, Imran Hayat obtained 741 marks out of 850, Shoaib Ajmal Khan got 651 marks and Fahad Muhammad Yasin secured 642 marks. They held first, second and third positions, respectively.

Among the girls, Sarah Iqbal secured 84 per cent marks followed by Qamar Fatima 79.76 per cent and Khadija Saeed Mumtaz 77 per cent to secure the first, second and third positions respectively.

“Usually, the girl students top in the school but this year a boy student Imran Hayat competed the girls obtaining a total of 87.17 per cent marks, while Sarah Iqbal was behind him securing 84 per cent,” said Munir.

In science group, three boys, Imran Hayat, Shoaib Ajmal Khan and Fahad Muhammad Yasin took first, second and thrid positions. In computers, three boys, Asim Hasan Hashami, Muhammad Bilal Khan and Muhammad Hassan achieved first, second and third positions.

In the arts group, three boys who got first and second position are Waseem Afzal Awan, Chaudhry Khurram Tahir and Mohsin Javed.

In science (Biology), Sarah Iqbal, Qamar Fatima and Khadija Saeed Mumtaz secured the first, second and third positions and in science (Computer) Ambreen Siddiqui, Nida Nasir and Sidra Habib got first, second and third positions, while in the arts group of the girls who obtained first, second and third positions are Mahwish Mushtaq, Zakia Habib-ur-Rehman and Sundus Wajeeha.

The school will remain open during the summer vacation for new admissions from Prep class to first year.
