ABU DHABI —The Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) will release the first of a three-series online videos, highlighting its recent participation in Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2008.
Titled ‘What Is Abu Dhabi’, the first release will be shortly available on the Internet via the two web portals YouTube and the Middle East’s Ikbis.
Following the launch of its strategic plan earlier this month, DMA is forging ahead with various initiatives to further communicate its vision and role of municipal services, to enhance the standard of life in the UAE’s capital.
YouTube, the most widely accessed web portal for online videos and its Middle East counterpart Ikbis, which is the first photo and video-sharing service specifically for the Arab online community, have been chosen to help spread the new DMA message of “creating cities that work, through a new era of municipal services.”
The duration of the uploaded video is around two minutes and includes visual highlights from the emirate of Abu Dhabi, intertwined with testimonials from tourists, expatriates and Emiratis.
It also showcases the first public participation of the three municipalities in the emirate, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Madinat Zayed, all under the umbrella of DMA, at this year’s Cityscape Abu Dhabi exhibition.
The DMA is inviting people not only to visit the site, but also to provide feedback on the initiative and share their thoughts on the city or even post their video version for future ideas or testimonials of what they would like to see develop throughout the municipality which includes Al Ain and Al Gharbia (Western Region).
