This campaign comes in line with the ADFCA’s belief that food safety is a shared responsibility that requires positive interaction and active participation by all sections of the community.

The idea is to produce a cartoon series that involve several characters of different nationalities come together on a field trip to the ‘Heritage Village’.

During their trip, the children shed light on good and bad eating habits, checking expiry dates, food contamination and the effects of additives.

All the food tips are being disseminated through a comic, easy to grasp programme that comprises 15 episodes targeting children from the age group of 5-10 years.

Mohammed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Director of Communication and Community Service at the ADFCA, said: “We seek to educate consumers about the crucial practices that must be followed in dealing with food.

‘Zadna’ has targeted children because it is well known that children at this age are vulnerable when dealing with food and all the tips and guidance that they will receive will stick with them and they will pass them on to their peers and parents.” —
