Abu Dhabi co-operative gives Dh1.5m donation

ABU DHABI — The UAE Red Crescent (RC) received a Dh1.5 million donation yesterday from the Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society (ADCOOPS) for supporting humanitarian efforts in Lebanon.

Mohammed Saeed Qubaisi, ADCOOPS director, handed over the cheque to Khalifa Nasser AL Suwaidi RC's chairman.

The RCS's chairman expressed his appreciation to ADCA's initiative to support Lebanese in these terrible conditions.

"The ADCA is a leading national organisation in enhancing the charity activities and humanitarian in the UAE," he said, stressing that ADCA is a key partner to RCS which has strong relations with the state institutions and bodies.

Deputy General Director of ADCA announced that the association cooperated with RCS to organise fund-raising camapign in the Mina Center today from 10am to 10pm.

The Center will receive medicines, food, sugar, health material, baby daipers, household, blankets etc.

The ADCA's board member appealed to the rest of institutions in the private sector to respond to the current event and take part in the humanitarian campaign organised by RCS in UAE.
