Abu Dhabi — With the Abu Dhabi Awards campaign ending today, residents of the emirate are urged to nominate today so as not to miss out on the opportunity to recommend someone they think deserves to be recognised.

“If you haven’t nominated someone yet that you feel is worthy of an Abu Dhabi Award, please nominate. We review every single nomination — it’s been really wonderful reading some of the nominations and realising how selfless many people really are, and how many good people we have here in Abu Dhabi,” said a spokesperson from the Abu Dhabi Awards Organising Committee.

“We’re extremely pleased with how much the Abu Dhabi community has been involved in this year’s Abu Dhabi Awards — we have received a total of 30,548 nominations so far. We’ve also noticed more youth getting involved, which is great to see — goodness really has no age limit,” the spokesperson added.

The eight edition of the Abu Dhabi Awards began on May 10 at over 100 locations across the emirate. The Abu Dhabi Awards seek to honour ordinary people whose good deeds and selfless acts have made tremendous impact in the community.

Anyone considered to have made a positive contribution to the emirate, big or small, can be nominated for an award regardless of their age, gender or nationality, including those living abroad provided they have done something good for the local community.
