Abdullah condemns Rabbani’s killing

ABU DHABI — Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, on Wednesday condemned the killing of Burhanuddin Rabbani, Chairman of the Afghan High Peace Council and former president of Afghanistan, in a terrorist attack at his home in Kabul.

Shaikh Abdullah expressed the UAE’s solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in its efforts to combat extremism and terrorism. He also expressed heart-felt condolences to the government of Afghanistan and family of the deceased.

Shaikh Abdullah affirmed the UAE’s condemnation of these criminal acts and its support for the peace process adopted by the Afghan High Peace Council through negotiations which aim at achieving national reconciliation led by President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan. —
