AAWC to honour 200 outstanding students

AL AIN — Almost 200 students of the Al Ain Women’s College (AAWC) will receive awards and certificates at the Awards Night on Tuesday.

Tonia Michel, Students Activities’ Coordinator at the AAWC, said that these awards acknowledge student success and achievement in both academic and non-academic areas. Students receiving the prestigious Chancellor’s Award are given certificates signed by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. These students are graduates from each programme who have made the most significant contribution to college life while maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 or above.

In addition, the director of the AAWC will present certificates to students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or above in their most recent semester.

She highlighted that other important awards that will be presented are those honouring the Highest Academic Achievement, Volunteer Recognition, Student Council and Peer Tutors, Model Student, Model Resident Student, Work Readiness Programme Model Student, Student of the Year, and Outstanding Achievement in English for Year One and the Foundations Programme.

The AAWC is part of the Higher Colleges of Technology that is one of the leading higher education institutions in the UAE with 12 campuses located throughout the country.
