The society itself has been in operation for some 10 years, and since her arrival, Martha has developed both the Senior Choir and the Al Ain Youth Chorus. Recent events have included the Christmas Dinner and Choral Concert at the InterCon Resort and the Christmas tree lighting at the Hilton.

Last week, Mr William Moore, who is employed at the Khalifa bin Zayed Air College, took it upon himself to present Ms Griffin with a flute in token of all the effort she has put in to the awareness and enjoyment of music in Al Ain. Typically, Ms Griffin has decided to make the flute available to any youngster on a loan basis who would like to develop their skills on this instrument.

The Al Ain Choral Society's next major project will be an oratorio performance in costume of the renowned stage musical Oliver. The show is planned for June and rehearsals are about to start. Singers of all ages and abilities are most welcome to enrol and should contact Ms Sylvia Holmes at the HCT who will supply additional information. The Al Ain Choral Society meets every Saturday at the Inter Continental Resort.
