The first phase of the new CPS, developed by Tata Interactive Systems (TIS) in collaboration with Microsoft, has created a state-of-the-art learning portal for the college, and new infrastructure, including Storage Area Network (SAN) for all the data that could eventually reach five Tetrabits in volume.
Sanjaya Sharma, CEO of TIS, said about the new CPS: “We are excited to be working with ADMC and bringing our portal development expertise to this new technology. The project took 12 weeks to develop, and includes technologies such as SQL Server 2003, Share Point Portal 2.0, and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, Active Directory Server and custom integration using NET development in a clustered environment with a single database.”
“Our campus is clearly seen as a Microsoft Campus and this enhances our position as a technology leader in the region. Our college infrastructure utilises gigabit networking, and is fully wireless, with laptops for all and online courses all combined to enhance e-Learning,” Dr Tayeb Kamali, Director of ADMC said.
Ahmed Tabbara, head of Learning Support at ADMC, said: “This is an Internet enabled solution that allows any time, anywhere access to college services. Access to information any time is an important element in today’s knowledge-based economy and students need to be part of this before entering the work force.”
