UAE, Pakistan military ties are a harbinger for regional security

For the first time in history, UAE's military contingent will participate in the Pakistan National Day parade in Islamabad today (March 23), which indicates a new phase of confidence building in their military spheres and cooperation between the two countries.
"A contingent from the UAE military will parade along with Pakistan armed forces to mark the 78th National Day of Pakistan in the federal capital," Ambassador of Pakistan Moazzam Ahmed Khan confided to Khaleej Times in his exclusive interview. "It is, indeed, a great honour for us and would go a long way in furthering strategic understanding between the two countries."
Pakistan and the UAE military relations are time-tested. Both the countries have stood for each other, and UAE's security and stability is of paramount importance for Pakistan. Pakistan, the only nuclear power Muslim state, has played a pivotal role in helping to train and equip the UAE military, such as training fighter pilots of the UAE air force and other defence-related equipment and technology acquisitions. Both the countries also have conducted joint exercises to boost their capabilities.

Qamar Javed Bajwa's recent visit to the UAE was a follow-up of similar high-level interactions to discuss renewed military cooperation. Fighting terrorism and rogue non-state actors is an integral part of their understanding. The UAE has the most advanced Arab military and defence sector, and advocates regional peace and reconciliation. Their military ties reflect a kaleidoscope of multi-faceted cooperation for stability and territorial integrity in the region.
