A glimpse of Sheikh Zayed's life

3 books at the fair give readers an insight into the life of UAE founder.

The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) has a new collection of titles that cover memorable quotes, rare pictures and extracts of the life of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. 
Motivate Publishing, a Dubai-based company, said they have published three small-volume books, including Father of Our Nation - Collected Quotes of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Zayed - Life of a Great Leader and Sheikh Zayed - Life and Time - A Century Edition, to celebrate the Year of Zayed, an initiative to mark the centennial of the UAE's founding father and to pay tribute to the great leader.
Mohammed Tariq, key accounts and administration manager at Motivate Publishing, said: "We wanted to put the life, history and photos of Sheikh Zayed together in simple and small-sized books so people and children can easily read about the UAE's great father."
Father of Our Nation is a collection of inspirational quotes from Sheikh Zayed, a man who fought for unity, preached equality and transformed the UAE from separate sheikhdoms into one of the most developed countries in the region and the world. "Sheikh Zayed's words are as relevant today as they were during his lifetime," said Tariq. The book in Arabic and English celebrates the thoughts and ideas that make Sheikh Zayed the remarkable figure that he is. Featuring rare historical and contemporary photographs, the book covers the themes of environment, heritage, education and progress, leadership, nation, values, and women and preserves the wise words of Sheikh Zayed as the UAE continues to celebrate his wisdom almost fifty years on. Tariq said the publishers collected Sheikh Zayed's quotes from different sources including the National Archive and the presidential office among others.
The book Zayed - Life of a Great Leader recounts Sheikh Zayed's dynamic life and the many facets of his personality - from his early life in Al Ain to his outstanding vision that guides the UAE to this day. Published to coincide with the Year of Zayed and commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Sheikh Zayed, the book includes rare and famous historical photographs that celebrate the late great leader's legacy. 
The late Sheikh Zayed is celebrated as the Personality of the Year at this year?s book fair and a series of talks from various people have been organised to explore his shaping of the UAE society and delve into the values and principles he lived by.
