Dubai - In a minority of travelers with no rescheduling, Nadia Baker flying to Egypt on Fly Dubai said she had her fingers crossed: "Till now my flight is on schedule."

Several passengers were stranded at the Dubai International Airport for several hours on Thursday after the flights were cancelled or diverted.
Dubai resident Belinda who was due to leave for Colombo on a FlyDubai flight at 6.55pm was informed of the new time of departure: 7.35pm. She said: "I got an SMS. But it's not showing on the list yet." She said she was okay with waiting the barely any extra time but hoped her flight wouldn't be further delayed.
Waiting at the airport since the early hours of the morning, another Dubai resident, Miguel Angel Currion was flying to Madrid via Istanbul. His flight was at 4.20am on Thursday. But it got cancelled. He told Khaleej Times that he had asked for details at the information counter but was told to wait. "I have got my boarding pass, but no details yet about the flight." He was flying Pegasus Airlines.
One of the several people stranded and waiting to get information about their changed flight status was a French family headed to Prague. Their flight had been delayed from 7pm to 9pm. They too, echoing Belinda's sentiments said: "The two hours delay is fine, but if it is further delayed then it would be bit difficult for us as we have to catch another flight tomorrow from there."
Bilal who was travelling to Karachi said his flight was at 7pm on Wednesday but that's been pushed back to 12pm. "I am waiting at the airport since yesterday evening," he said.
Flying to Delhi on an Air India flight, Meraj's flight was at 12pm on Thursday, but he said it got cancelled and "they are not even giving any information about it." Meraj was in Dubai on a visit. "I've been here for 15 days."

Heading to the exit, Asrar Ahmed was to flying to Mumbai by Air India at 6pm. He said after waiting for so long I just got an SMS saying flight is scheduled from Sharjah at 8.30pm. "So now I am rushing to Sharjah," he said.
