This fund-raising project was initiated and entirely coordinated by a group of local volunteers willing to support the cause of the hundreds of thousands of Darfur people who will enter the new year with insufficient food, shelter and medical care.

The launching event was held on Monday last, at PAUL, Mercato Mall.

This bilingual book (French-English) contains 80 international recipes, organised in several sections (Starters, Main Courses, Desserts, Children’s Corner and Little Extras). A special contribution was made by three of the most famous chefs in Dubai (Jumeira Beach Hotel, Café Chic and Lemon Grass). The book sponsors gracefully covered the publishing expenses.

The book will be available for sale in the Magrudy’s outlets, in the XVA gallery and in the MSF offices. It can be purchased for Dh80.

All the funds raised through the sponsorship and the sale of this book will be directed to the MSF Darfur missions.

MSF has been present in Darfur since the beginning of the crisis, assisting more than 700,000 people in about 26 working points. MFS activities consist mainly in treating malnourished children in therapeutic feeding centres; treating patients suffering from diseases like respiratory infections, diarrhoea, hepatitis E, and malaria; running blanket feeding programs; providing clean water and improving sanitation to reduce the risk of disease.
