74 foodstuff violations detected in June

ABU DHABI — The Food Inspection Department of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) detected 74 violations related to foodstuff during the month of June and ordered closure of two establishments for not adhering to the hygiene standards prescribed by the ADFCA.

“The Food Inspection Department (FID) destroyed 195 tonnes of foodstuff and issued 1,179 warnings to food outlets, cafes and others. Two establishments were ordered closed,” said Mohammed Jalal Al Rayaysa, manager of communication and information department, ADFCA. Fines were slapped on 74 kitchens, hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, groceries, supermarkets, bakeries, cafes and central markets for various reasons.

The monthly report of the ADFCA showed that the number of violations went up from 48 in May to 74 in June.
