60-yr-old bags Ideal Driver honour

RAS AL KHAIMAH — He has been driving his car in Ras Al Khaimah for more than 20 years now and has an impeccable record on the road.

He has never caused any accident nor has he ever been booked for violating traffic laws.

Because of his achievement, the Department of Traffic yesterday chose to honour Mohammed Ali Rashid Almazroai as the Ideal Driver of 2007.

He received commendation from Shaikh Talib bin Saqr Algasimi as part of the programme scheduled for the Traffic Week being observed here.

Almazroai, 60, said, “I am happy to have received the honour. I drive safely for myself and others.”

Almazroai called upon the youth to be aware of traffic rules and to drive responsibly.
