Speaking to Khaleej Times, Abdullah Al Blooshy, the Labour Inspector, said that the raids began on Saturday, July 1.
The Ministry of Labour's instruction bans companies from putting labourers to work between 12.30pm and 3pm during peak summer months of July and August.
He noted that the duration of the break is two and a half hours compared to four hours last year.
He said companies that did not comply with the new rule would have to face legal action.
Companies which are first-time violators have to pay the maximum charge for labour transactions and a fine of Dh10,000.
If the violating firm has past violations, then it will be fined and its transactions for new employment permits will be suspended for three months.
In case of repeated violations by a company, it has to pay a fine of Dh20,000.
''A third-time violation deserves a suspension of labour transactions for one year along with a fine of Dh30,000,'' he added.
He emphasised that the Ministry of Labour, along with AALO, had made all efforts to apply laws and regulations that keep the labourers, employers, and workers in good condition.
Working under conditions of intense heat and humidity during summer makes construction workers vulnerable to sun strokes and heat exhaustion.
Mohammed Dheeb, a representative of the Al Ain Hospital Ambulance section, disclosed that 70 per cent of the cases recently referred to Al Ain (Al Jimmi) Government Hospital's Emergency Unit pertained to heat exhaustion.
Dheeb said that most of the heat exhaustion and sunstroke cases were due to work under the scorching sun.
"More cases of sunstroke and heat exhaustion were reported this year compared to last year that witnessed fewer cases,'' he added.
He highlighted that corporations and companies should have safety measures in place to protect workers exposed to the sun.
