500 fires in Dubai last year
DUBAI — Around 500 fire incidents were reported in Dubai during the year 2006 with major fires accounting for the five per cent of the total, Brigadier Rashed Thani Al Matroushi, Director of Dubai Civil Defence, said during a meeting with the delegation from South Korea National Emergency Authority in Dubai yesterday.
Al Matroushi said that the meeting discussed cooperation between the UAE and South Korea National Emergency Authority which has successfully dealt with 100,000 fire accidents.
