UAE business activity and business confidence remained strong
Major Saeed Obaid bin Arran, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department of the UAQ Police Directorate General, said the discount would be for fines incurred for traffic offences committed on the emirate’s roads.
“The discount is for pending fines, but they must be paid at the Traffic and Patrols Department in these four days,” he added.
The move is in line with the UAE’s celebrations of the 40th National Day.
In October, the department announced a 25 per cent discount on pending traffic fines if they are paid in full. “The decision encouraged many motorists to settle their dues and renew expired vehicle registration,” Maj Bin Arran said.
The UAQ Traffic Police recently launched an intensive campaign to monitor traffic flow to curb reckless driving, particularly during weekends.
