The promotion was the first to be held to coincide with the ICC Cricket World Cup. Throughout the tournament's 51 games, Khaleej Times readers were invited to send their predictions for the best performer on the field or 'The Man of the Hour'. Two winning entries were selected from each game, making the total cash amount given out by Hour Choice Dh51,000. Fifty-five winners had received their gift vouchers during two previous ceremonies.

'Our aim was to showcase our passion for cricket and the World Cup offered an ideal international platform. Khaleej Times provided a wide cross-section of our target audience, so it was good for all of us,' said P Ravi Rao, General Manager, Hour Choice.

The youngest winner, 13-year-old Prithvi from India, correctly guessed the best player on four occasions. 'I've been following cricket for some time, and it helped me predict which individual was going to put in the best performance,' he said.

South African Anu Kumar won prizes twice while going for his compatriot Jacques Kallis each time.
